
Waakye (Rice and Beans)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups rice
- 1 cup black-eyed beans
- 1 teaspoon baking soda or waakye leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions:

- Cook beans in water until partially soft.
- Add waakye leaves or baking soda to give the dish its traditional colour.
- Add washed rice and enough water to cook.
- Cook until the rice and beans are tender.
- Serve with fried plantain, spaghetti, boiled eggs, meat, shito, or stew.
